About Me

Shalyn Christianson, has been around horses for most of her life, and has had the privilege to work for horse trainers in the reining and cutting industry. In spring 2009 Shalyn started working for Natalie Weichel of Whispering Sands Training Centre, she stopped working for Natalie end of December 2011 to per sue her massage career. Summer 2012 she then started riding under Tori Meggison where to this day she seeks guidance and help time to time from Tori. When she got into cutting she was riding under Mike Belof to start, worked for him for the summer and had countless hours of lessons from him. Shalyn then moved to coach Jeff Schwitzer for a short time. Right after Jeff Shalyn started taking flag and cow work lessons with Dale Clearwater. As much as she enjoys her lessons with Dale, he does not attend cutting shows unfortunately. Shalyn at shows now rides under Glen Beveridge and seeks his guidance when she is attending a show he is not at.

Due to being a massage therapist for humans and rehabbing humans on a regular basis, she decided it was time to do the same thing for horses and dogs. In 2013 Shalyn took her massage course for horses and vertebral realignment and joint play for horses. A couple years after taking those courses she travelled to Olds, Alberta and took her equine taping course. January 2023 Shalyn took her canine massage course and canine taping course.

Shalyn has personally witnessed the great benefits of these treatments on horses and dogs. Witnessing how horses and dogs take to the treatments and how their bodies improve is what drives Shalyn to stay in this field.

Not only does Shalyn have a huge love and passion for horses, she also has a strong passion for dogs, especially the giant breeds. Her desire to learn more about training dogs and dog sports lead her to start hosting dog training seminars. She spoke to very well known dog trainers in other provinces and booked them to come to Regina and teach people including herself. Since May 2023  Shalyn has learnt and trained under Keenan Taylor-Brown, Tammy Thankachen and Cassandra Beach.

My Philosophy

I believe that the elimination of stress and tension is critical for the improvement and maintenance of overall well being, by improving the quality of life through massage and Reiki.

By eliminating the stress and tension in the muscles that horses and dogs carry due to their daily jobs and living. They will then be able to perform and relax that much better for their human.
